Assalamu Alikum, The Imam started to give one Hadeeth from Sahih Bukhari every day after Isha prayer. Some of the brothers are concerned that there may be some innovation in this saying that neither the Prophet or his companions did this before as a Sunnah on daily basis. Please advise
All praise be to Allah, and may his peace and blessings be on the last and best prophet and messenger, Muhammad.
This is done for organizational purposes, and for the people’s convenience. Thus, it is not bid‘ah. Otherwise, we won’t be able to have any regular classes of any topic or even have any regularity in our life. The imam didn’t say that after isha is favorable over after maghrib or after fajr, and he didn’t say that sunnah is better studied after isha and not asr. The scholars of Islam for the last 14 centuries had regular classes on different topics.
The Messenger (May Allah bless him and give him peace) said: “The most beloved deeds in the sight of Allah are those that are consistent.”
Allah knows best.
